Every year at Christmas my dear mother-in-law assembles stockings for all the big kids as well as the little ones. A couple of years ago she asked everyone to contribute a small gift to go into the stockings. These are my contributions this year, one for each grownup stocking. (Truthfully, there is one more that needs to be made yet and sent to Phoenix, God forbid I got everything done on time!)

Here it is folks…. the long-awaited (well, at least by me!), fully knit, washed AND blocked
Pinwheel Baby Blanket:
Not too shabby, eh? It took a little longer then I had anticipated, but it was an easy knit. The hardest part was keeping track of whether or not I was on an increase round. Because of this, I would say this is not a good project to work on at a stitch and bitch. Go on, ask me how I know. It was, however, a great project to work on while I was in History class. (I didn’t take the final, so all that was required was that I attend class.) Any-who, I used Plymouth Encore a full 3 balls and size 8 needles. I like the Encore for baby blankets because it is washable and soft, what else could you ask for?
So that’s it kids, my last ever baby blanket. Yeah, I know I said that before after the “Summer of Babies” (I think everyone was preggers!), but this time I mean it! Unless of course another of hubbies life-long friends get knocked up and he begs me…. again.

No more pencils
No more books
No more teacher’s dirty looks
Yippee! No more school for a whole month! Now maybe I can catch up on some other things…. like friendships, this blog, and house work, a whole lotta house work. Oh, and knitting of course. Actually, I’ve managed to get a fair amount of knitting done, I really need to take pictures and post, oh and I need to get caught up on Ravelry .
Today is my first day with no studying to do. To celebrate my friend Lenore and I were going to drive to Brown Sheep in Nebraska, but the Denver weather had a different idea. Six inches of white fluffy-ness, six inches of reasons not to drive to Nebraska. Bummer!
So in lieu of yarn shopping, I had a big plan of cleaning, laundry and decorating for Christmas. Really not a bad plan for a snowy day. I have actually done a fair amount of cleaning. No decorating, yet. Laundry? There will be no laundry for me today, because I don’t feel like driving to the laundry mat. Yes, I need to go to the laundry mat because my fucking washer is leaking, at least I hope it’s my washer and not the water pipes. Fucking piece of shit! Honestly, we have had it for awhile and up until recently I have loved it. Now? Not so much so. What’s really frustrating is its a stack-able and the dryer quit working a few weeks ago. A hundred dollars and 2 weeks later, hubby essentially refurbished the dryer part. Now the washer is broke. Damn it! As much as I would like a new washer and dryer, I really would rather not spend the money on them. I can think of much better things to do with the money, like buy Christmas presents and yarn. Damn it! UGH!
Well, I’m off to decorate, that should cheer me up. If that doesn’t work then all I have left to do is knit!
